Save the Penguins!

The African penguin population is in rapid decline. In 2008 the population reached an all-time low of 26,000 breeding pairs, down from an estimated two million pairs at the turn of the 20th century.

The kiddos mission was to build a mock nest to help the penguins survive the very warm weather of South Africa! Take a look at their projects!

Our conclusion was... the penguins needed to be able to cover their eggs to give them the best protection! The ones that weren't covered ended up melting first!
