Elf on the Shelf!
Meet our Elf on the Shelf, Bernard! Many of you have probably already heard all about our class friend! We met him at the beginning of the month, and he will be with us until we leave for Winter Break! Bernard watches over our class to make sure we are being "nice" boys and girls. Each night he travels back to the North Pole to report our behavior (good or bad :)...) to Santa. He is LOVED by all of the students, and they enjoy the new spot he takes over each new school day. I know that we all have different beliefs and different ways in which we celebrate the holidays, so even if you don't "believe" in Santa, this little guy is a great way to help keep the kids accountable in the classroom! He somewhat shares the same role as our class frog, Buddy! If the kids think they're being "watched", they tend to behave better :)! If you're interested in purchasing your own Elf on the Shelf, Joseph Beth is selling them for $30.00. There's a DVD this year that can be purchased separately from the Elf (but goes along with it), and a book which is included in the Elf on the Shelf package. Many of the students have an Elf on the Shelf at home (I hear all of the interesting spots they find he/she in), but for those who do not, Joseph Beth is in fact one of the place you could find him/her (there's a girl elf this year now too-ha ha!). Have Fun with it!
