We have greatly enjoyed our duck life cycle unit! Take a look!
We learned all about the life cycle of a duck. We learned about the duck parts and what we will see first in the egg when we "candle" it. We also made a chart about which egg we all thought would hatch first.
We had 10 eggs that we numbered and put in to the incubator. The incubator had to stay at 100 degrees to make the eggs feel cozy. The eggs needed to be turned 3 times a day, so we all took turns with this HUGE responsibility!
Number 3 started to hatch first!!
Meet Lilly "Victoria" Spidey!
Here are all the hatched eggs. Notice how most hatch all the way around the egg in a line.
Pinky wasn't feeling well so we were hand feeding her. She had to go back to the farm early to be with her mama.
Victoria and Batman
Victoria, the bossy big sisters and her little brother Batman
The black duck is Jake.
Meet Hot Dog!
Back to the farm they go! We will miss them!
