Happy Valentine's Day!

Wow we had such a busy and fantastic day yesterday! I want to thank all the parents who sent in items and helped out with our party. It was a great success because of you! This year I decided to put a little educational spin on the centers so they were all STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Valentine centers. Check them out!

Sink or float with candy hearts

Making thaumatropes- a card with different pictures on opposite sides, as a horse on one side and a rider on the other, which appear as if combined when the card is twirled rapidly, thus illustrating the persistence of visual impressions.

Using candy hearts to make bridges and barges.

Snack station- the kiddos ate PINK PARFAITS (yogurt with fixings) and played tic-tac-toe with graham cracker boards and candy hearts.

Will the candy hearts sink or float in.... water, sprite or vinegar?

Learning all about static electricity and making cupid "fly" (he was made out of tissue paper).

Fun with thaumatropes!
